If you think that a TV fitness program will get you fit...
Think again.
After all the excuses and complaining,(http://pleasurenotpunishment.wordpress.com/2013/10/30/jillian-michaels-triathlete/) at a sprint Triathlon, Jillian did the run at an 11:47 pace. (That is a walking pace, roughly 5 mph). That is indicative of the Very Poor-Poor fitness category by nearly every fitness assessment.
(ex. http://faculty.camdencc.edu/pdilorenzo/102home_files/12minwalkrun.htm).
If she were to run a marathon at this pace it would take over 5 hours to complete. Looking at the overall results of a number of marathons, She would finish behind Men in the 60-69 age group and Women in the 50-59 age group. http://www.runnersworld.com/races/comparing-times-and-age-groups-in-three-big-fall-marathons
For a Fitness Pro, this is pathetic. It is obvious that her training program does virtually nothing to improve fitness.
The above celebrity fitness example illustrates that there is more to getting fit than "just" losing weight. Weight loss may be a symptom of a person's level of fitness but it is not even close to being a measure of fitness. If you are going to invest a large chunk of time and money in a fitness program it should develop your cardiovascular fitness at the very least, with the overall goal of making you fit enough to be self sufficent.
